Woodlanders – Out Now!

I have had some poems published in the new book “Woodlanders – New Life In Britain’s Forests” by Saraband Publishing.

If you click on the book it will take you to the website where you can preview the book. It looks wonderful and is well worth a look.

Memoirs of a Diplomat

Here’s a project I have been working on over the last few years and is now complete! These are the memoirs of Arunasalam Nesaratnam (17th March 1914 – 29th October 2003) who was Assistant High Commissioner for Ceylon in Malaya. He also worked in Ceylon, Australia, Burma and London. I helped type up the handwritten memoirs and designed the website. You can read and download the whole book there. It has been a very interesting project, learning about life as a diplomat in such interesting times.

You can read the memoirs here…

Edinburgh Half Marathon

Edinburgh Half Marathon – Sunday 23rd May 2010
Conditions – very foggy at the start > very hot and sunny by the end!

This was a bit of a struggle. Quite an early start at 8.00 am on a Sunday morning didn’t help. It was also very foggy as a sea fog came in over Edinburgh. As the morning progressed it got quite hot and sunny which made it more difficult for the full marathon runners who started later in the morning and had to run through the midday sun. Luckily for us it was all over by 10 o’clock and could have a little mid morning nap to celebrate before welcoming the full marathon racers home at the Musselburgh race course.

Edinburgh 10K

Edinburgh 10K – Sunday 2nd May 2010
Conditions: Cloudy but warm at times

This was fun – and short, which helped. After a steep hill at the start around Arthur’s Seat, the course was quite fast. A few hills but some big hills downhill. Finished nicely by sprinting down the Royal Mile to Holyrood Park – a nice finish to a very picturesque course.
